Write or type the words above onto white paper. Trace an outline of a dinosaur of your choice - or try a dinosaur footprint - on colored construction paper and glue the words to it.
Or, start a similar invitation with these words: "We're hatching something
BIG!"...to celebrate Daniel's (your child's name) Birthday! Insert
invitations into a plastic Easter egg or discarded hosiery egg, and mail in
small boxes or hand-deliver.
Dress your child up in a dinosaur costume (ideas below), take a
snapshot, and make custom party invitations!

Dinosaur Cake
I made this dinosaur cake for my son Daniel, who is in love with dinosaurs. I used a simple dinosaur cake pan, green tinted frosting detailed in white, red string licorice mouth, colorful candies for eyes and accents, and unwrapped candy kisses to make scales along dino's back. It was fun and easy!

Volcano Cake
Make a bundt cake and frost it in chocolate frosting.
Decorate with palm trees and small plastic dinosaurs: Before serving, take a
pint of chocolate ice cream and place over the hole in the center of the cake.
Pour strawberry syrup over it for volcano lava. Serve and
enjoy!
Variation: Frost the cake white and use vanilla ice cream
for a different look.
Dinosaur Egg Surprise Cake
Make your favorite cake recipe and cool
layers. Frost the bottom layer first then add several jellybeans before adding the top layer. Frost the
entire cake. When serving, tell guests to find the dinosaur eggs hidden in the
cake.

Label party food for:
Carnivores - Hamburgers, Pteradactyl Wings (chicken
wings) or Dino Drumsticks(chicken drummettes)
Herbivores - Assorted
cut fruits and veggies with dip
Active Volcano Punch
2 (12 oz.) cans frozen cranberry
juice concentrate
1 1/2 c. orange juice
1 1/2 pts. club soda or
seltzer
Orange and lemon slices
Freeze orange and lemon slices in ring of water. Thaw cranberry
juice concentrate. Combine with orange juice and chill. Add club soda or seltzer
just before serving. Add orange and lemon ice ring for garnish. 18
servings.
Here's where the fun starts... place a piece of dry ice in a sealed plastic container. Punch or cut holes in the container lid. Before serving drop the container into the punch bowl. Very cool effect!
Variation: Smoldering Swamp Water - Float the
dry ice container in a green beverage such as 7-UP.
Important: Always use caution when handling dry ice! Use tongs or heavy gloves so
it does not touch bare skin as burn will result. Do not put the dry ice directly
in the punch; it should NOT be ingested.
Serve drinks in these cool and colorful Dinosaur Mugs!
4 sm. pkgs. or 2 lg. packages Jello any flavor
2 1/2 c.
boiling water or apple juice
Completely dissolve gelatin in boiling water or juice. Pour into
13 x 9 inch pan. Chill until firm, about 3 hours. To remove, dip pan in warm
water about 15 seconds. Cut into dinosaur shapes with cookie cutters. Lift from
pan.
2 1/2 cups dirt
1 cup sand
1 1/2 cups salt
water
small plastic toy dinosaurs
To make the dough, mix all the dry ingredients together.
Gradually stir in enough water so the mix holds together. Shape handfuls of
dough around the small plastic dinosaurs in the form of egg shapes. Give these
"eggs" up to 4 days to dry then you can let the kids discover them in your yard
or garden. They can be opened with a hammer or rock.
Note: Turn the eggs regularly so they dry evenly and completely. Don't leave them outside overnight if there's a change of rain or even dew, which may soften them.
